Dr. Cole's practice is limited to equine dentistry. After 22 years practicing in all areas of veterinary medicine, Dr. Cole decided to deepen his expertise in the field he most enjoyed, equine dentistry. He has now spent more than 12 years focusing in this area. Dr. Cole is a 1976 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Cole believes, "the successful equine breeder recognizes the importance of qualified equine dentistry. With scheduled visits, good dental health of the entire herd is maintained. A balanced-comfortable mouth is necessary to achieve optimal results from any breeding, nutritional or training program."
With his wife Suzan, Dr. Cole enjoys participating in reining, ranch roping, team penning and trail riding. His ranch is located atop the Missouri Ozarks with panaramic views in every direction.
Dr. Cole prepares Sugar Chic Olena for his routine "check up." 
A thorough oral examination is required to identify problems before they can impede performance.
Shown here is a sore caused by a "cap" that will be removed by Dr. Cole during his visit.
Sharpening of the molars occurs in horses as a result of chewing. During the horse's annual "check up," Dr. Cole will grind the teeth to prevent sores and facilitate chewing. This process allows the horse to achieve the most nutritional benefit from their food source.
